Sad day for Cardinals fans, and maybe even for baseball.

Makes me appreciate the guys who embraced one team for their entire careers, like Jeter, Gwynn, Brett and Schmidty to name a few

Does anyone remember what happened to Griffey's stuff when he went to Cincy?
Someone contact magic papa

Well i guess its just a bummer cause you were hoping to see him stay with the 1 team forever.
but thats sports in this day and age. its a buisness

I am happy i got this finally signed last year.
too bad it definately went down in value this morning.

So do we change his nickname from "The Machine" to the "The ATM Machine"?

Plays 1st base for the next 5 years and then DH for 5----I can see it.

Wow, I am in utter disbelief.

I can't say that I'm unhappy to have Pujols, but that is a long contract, for sure.

I guess they decided it was time to match the Ranger's batting thunder. Hopefully this will mean that Weaver will get a few more much-deserved wins from his 1 earned-run pitching outings. 8-)

Well, I guess Cardinals fans say that Albert took a money grab.....

Marlins offered Albert Pujols 10 years, $275 million!

I am pumped by the signing. Albert is one of my favorite players and I can't wait to see him in Anaheim.

The only downside is I did not renew my season seats this year.

I got married last month and the wife and I decided that instead of renewing the seats, we are going to try to hit a couple of different ballparks each year until we knock out all 30 stadiums.

So far I've only been to stadiums in California.

Dodgers
Padres
Giants
A's
Angels

We're planning on heading to Seattle next year and maybe Arizona or Colorado.

Can't wait for the Press conference on Saturday!!!!

Since no one's said it yet ---

ATTENTION: MR. SAM BANKS. PLEASE STEP AWAY FROM THAT LEDGE. THERE ARE MANY OTHER REASONS FOR YOU TO LIVE. OFFHAND I CAN'T THINK OF ANY, BUT I'M SURE THERE MUST BE SOME.

(Look at the bright side. He'll still be wearing red and white.)

I'm at work so I haven't been able to talk much about it, so here's what I posted on my FaceBook.

I'll be off at 11pm and will be on to talk more about it tonight.

I wouldn't have given him 250 million. It's a smart move career wise for Albert I guess. He can become a DH on a few years and play longer. Oh well, this wont cripple the Cardinals like it would have had he signed. Thanks for an outstanding 10 years. See you in Cooperstown El Hombre.

Just posted this on FaceBook too.

Haven't been on FaceBook for 20 minutes total today, and I'm already fed up with the bitching of the Cardinals fans. Shut up, he's gone. We were good before him, we'll be good after him. NONE OF YOU complaining would turn down 250+ million dollars. NONE OF YOU. Does it suck for St. Louis and historically? Yes, but it's not the end of the world, so stop whining.

The fan base claims to be the best in baseball, well it's time to act like it.

Why is it not okay for Cardinals fans to be pissed off? I know I would be if one of the best ever players in baseball history signed somewhere else at 32 after 10 amazing years and two World Series rings. A better question would be why WOULD'T Cardinals fans be fuming.

Already fired the first shots on your facebook wall.

You're rational. I dig that.

I'm not reading through 7 pages of this ********.

To all Cardinals fans: you got to enjoy 10 years watching the best player in baseball. You also got two World Series titles. Please collectively stop whining and shut up. Thank you.
