Lets just be clear....between the Marlin and the Angels.....you can no longer just accuse the Yankees of trying to buy a World Series. It seems like other teams realize that you have to spend money to make money.

Is there any good comparison for Pujols? A sure fire hall of famer switching teams in the middle of his career? The only one I can thing of off the top of my head is Frank Robinson.

Bonds wasn't a surefire HOF when he left Pitt in 1992 but it seemed obvious that we was HOF capable. He left Pittsburgh at 27.

Randy Johnson, Ken Griffey, Jr., A-Rod, Manny Ramirez, Rickey Henderson are among the guys you could argue were surefire hall of famers (or seemed like they were well on their way) when they switched teams.

No you can't. The ol' cash and dash. But I couldn't resist poking a little fun at the man.

I've been gone all day, so haven't seen this thread.

But man, it seems like the Angels gave him WAY too much money. 10 years? And $250 Million? Give me Prince Fielder, with a 6-8 year contract all day long.

Bonds collection also!

Real question is what will hurt more??
Losing Pujols or losing Luhnow to the Stros?
Also who was the "mystery team" ?? Cubs?
For my answer I think Luhnow. IMO he has done a great
job as scouting director.
