Honestly, rather than destroying the cards. Perhaps, he should give the unsold copies of cards away to young children at the national. Seems silly just to destroy cards, then again, I also am not the one spending a rather large sum of money creating cards, only to have them destroyed.

I bought one of each and my shipping invoice is only $2.99

and if you think about it, the more cards you buy, technically the cheaper it is per card.

4 cards= $22.99= $5.75 a card
all 24 cards= $122.99= $5.12 per card

Starts off in hands of young children, ends up in hands of men with meatball stains on their shirts who just finsihed a Battlestar Galattica marathon and then eBay. Just think of the stories we hear about when little kids are paid to get balls autographed in quantity for the men who are off in the distance

That really wouldn't be fair to those who paid for them.

Not a good idea to make peopel pay for cards or turn in wrappers for promo cards but then later give same stuff away for free

I think destroying them is the way to go
I think the plan was for Jeff N to shred them at the National

Yes, give them to young children.

Then you'll see overweight men with Spock ears going to churches to take young boys out of the hands of those religious leaders wishing to touch them, taking them to the National to get cards to give to the dealers.

...this is a corrupt hobby. Much like most of them.

The cards should be, and I have full faith, will be, destroyed.

My question is... will these base cards retain their value after the parallels and such come out... even if few are destroyed of that card
Understand that the two parallels are limited to 50 and 25.

Do Bowman Chrome singles still have value due to the existence of Gold and Orange Refractors?

Basically, we are talking about a limited number of parallels that shouldn't "flood the market", and therefore not affecting the price.

To play devil's advocate - how many Bowman Chrome singles sell for $7.99 shipped?

To play the flip side, not since 2002 Bowman Chrome SP'ed rookies have there been less than 1000 of any base Chrome card made.

That being said, that was Bowman Chrome, a product with 5 years of history behind it (at that time) and the backing of a 50 year old company (at that time). Razor Similar to Chromium Metal is nothing like that.

But aren't there more than 1000 bowman chrome singles packed out? I compare these to bowman draft refractors but maybe my numbers with base refractors are way off

The refractor argument isn't bad but I still don't think it's going to be easy for people to prospect something that was readily available for $7.99 shipped on ebay. Nobody is going to want to pay more than that in the immediate future on the secondary market.

I disagree. The 2005 Bowman Chrome Green Refractors show that even if a card is $2-3 at release, it can easily triple in price. Boxes of product are readily available for X price, only to sometimes go up 50% in a matter of a week.

Even if that is the case these cards are not $2-3 - they are already triple the price ($8). You really think these are going to become $25 cards with the availability of autographs?

At their current sales pace, a few of these base cards will be more rare than the upcoming parallels! Granted, it's very early in the sale period and I doubt folks would let that happen.

Absent any shenanigans with these sales though, it's feasible.

I'm predicting some serious 29th day action.

What will preclude potential scarcity is the fact that we know exactly how many are being sold. What made the 2001 Elite so hot is that nobody knew the print run until the redemptions were expired.

I too expect sales to be in the 100's for each card.

Here's BG's response: "At invoice stage, i am combining to make $2.99 total!"
