Which cards has the most duplicates? Can we get a list of that please? Or if there are 4 grades listed on the checklist there are only 4 cards in the product?

Sweet checklist! Another error: 1986/87 Jordan sticker has one of the grades listed as a PSA 9.5

PSA does half-grades now I think.... though I'm not sure why. That was half the appeal of them, to me at least.

I'll try to remain positive:

1). I'm glad that a lot of dealers were able to move a lot of inventory to help create this product. Anything that puts $ in dealers pockets in this economy is certainly welcome.
2). I'm glad people are excited by it.

As far as duplicates go, I saw BG won a lot of 19 Emmitt Smith Score rookies so there's that. Also, is anyone else having trouble trying to buy off Atlanta Sports Cards website/ It keep saying their security cert expired and recommends me not including any private info and tells me to close the page??

no doubt there is a nice mix of cards to be had but here are a few concerns of mine...

#1-i am a baseball only collector, i think the product should have been more focused. more money to go around could have resulted in fewer duds and low grades.

#2-too many low grades. as a collector, here is what i generally shoot for...1940's=ex or better, 50's ex-mint or better, 60's nm or better (ex mt is acceptable on higher end cards so long as they have good eye appeal), 70's nm/mt or better, 80's mint or better, 90's to the present mint or better.

#3-lack of uniformity. i would have liked to have seen psa used for all slabs from 1989 back and bgs used for 1990 to the present.

i appreciate brian's efforts but once again it seems he rushed it. i am sure he started with good intentions but there doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to the checklist...too much filler.

One good thing about the checklist: I can use it to remind myself of how many cool cheap cards I can pick up for under $100 on eBay:

I never would have thought to check to see what a 1985 Topps Tiffany Mark McGwire was selling for before I saw the checklist, and now that see that you can pick up a PSA 9 for $87 plus shipping, I may have to buy one:

I went ahead and ordered a case from Atlanta even though my computer recommended I not do so......I think it was the last case Atlanta had because it doesn't show Rookie Retro anymore in the presell section. Hopefully this case doesn't cost me thousands more because of some hacker!

Most of the time, security certificates aren't a huge huge deal. Lots of people don't go through the necessary hoops. Sometimes though, people actively set up a scheme to take your cash money on orders. I'm sure you'll be fine.

Also, why the hell is there a 41 Play Ball Williams in the product? His rookie is 1939, not 1941.

I think I saw somewhere "rookie cards and rookie era cards"? Perhaps referring to older stuff?

I could understand if it were something along the lines of a Joe DiMaggio rookie (still open for debate it seems) or some of the guys in the 1933 set (does anyone here really consider the 1933 Goudey to be Babe Ruth's rookie card the way Beckett does?), but with Ted Williams, it's pretty cut and dried; no cards prior to 1939.

Honestly, some of your requests were not practical when it came time to buy for this product. Trust me, this wasnt rushed. I spent 6 months buying for this! I can assure you MUCH more thought went into the constuction of this product versus some previous efforts.

Ill address each comment independently:

1> we did multisport, because that is what made it the greatest chase ever! We considered baseball only, but the pool of rookie cards that could be used was just a little too finite. In addition, we did Legends of the Diamond (which was baseball only). We had 100's of requests of products with other sports. This product is designed to be the ultimate chase for the ultimate "sports" collector.

2> the grades were value driven. When faced with buying 100 $70-90 cards, we didnt want them all to be shiny and chromy. We then looked at vintage. To get ex-mt or better 48 bowman-55 topps of decent guys would not fit, but ex-mt schmidt, nrmt/mt yount, etc did.
We did buy some NICE grade vintage, but we used low to
middle grade to balance the names. The other thing to remember is that there are collectors for cards in all grades for many names. This product is designed to "have something for everybody". As such, there will be some who do not desire the range. This product is not for them.

3> Uniformity = lack of availability and diminished value. In many cases, acceptable cards were ONLY available in one or the other. Or, we were able to buy exceptional values (which is passed on to you as our budget stretches further). In addition, on newer cards i.e. 93 SP Jeter, PSA 9 > BGS 9. Thus sticking to one over the other couldve hurt value consumers will end up seeing. In addition, some vintage BGS brings a premium over PSA (as their grading system is not vintage friendly).

Definately appreciate the constructive respectful criticism and I will definately consider these things again before the next release. Just wanted to take a minute to explain that we did think through these things prior to starting and made choices we thought would benefit the most collectors. I do wish no one was less attracted to the product for these decisions. However based on distributor reports, the product is getting more interest than ever noe that the checklist is out. Thus, I would say most of our customers have responded positively.

Agreed. Werent going to include it and it slipped into the product :( . Since it was very close and the card is premium valued, we saw it as a benefit and didnt try to pull it after it was packaged.

He's already said he doesn't want to give away the print run of the entire product, and if we have that bit of info we'd be able to figure it out.
