Checklist will be up tomorrow
Why would you delay the posting of the checklist until after release, when you know so many people have already bought a box? Unless you know most collectors will be totally turned off by a checklist of 95% scrubs who even diehard Yankees fans haven't heard of?
And no one is asking for a deceased Hall of Famer in every box.
But players who played a least a full season with the Yankees would be nice.
There is absolutely no one who would be happy pulling a guy like Christian Garcia, who played 3 innings in his entire Major League career.
That's just bush league.

While the word of God has spoken, why is anyone surprised at the content of the product? What did you guys expect, DiMaggio cuts in every other box?

Brian is clearly trying to delay my inevitable disappointment when he reveals there are no Roberto Kelly or Hensley Meulens autos in the set.

Releasing a checklist after a product is live smells funny and just seems like a bad practice. Although looking at some of the "yankees" being pulled i wont be surprised if somewhere on that checklist are people who went to a game once...

To be fair, none of the other companies release complete and accurate checklists either. ITG may be the only one that comes close. Panini and Topps both neglect to mention parallels and subsets with nearly every release, or they mention parallels that don't actually exist.

Partial, mostly complete, checklist are FAR better than nothing. All companies should have a final checklist at least 1-week prior to going live.

Eh, at least they tell you the players in the set......most of the time. What is the actual benefit of keeping a checklist secret?

To me, it just seems like a product that didn't need to be made.

I recognize that they are selling, but since folks bought them not knowing the CL, and not having a clear picture of what the product would be beyond "yankees", using market sales as a barometer seems a little off. I know you like to (and often deservedly) point out sales data and that folks high on the pyramid make money on your products. However given the lack of CL and clear product description (say what you will about expectations of buyers being unrealistic, no one expected some of these 'hits'), I don't see sales data as as dispositive this time around.

I mean, if cost-to-big hit possibility is the draw (cheap price for a chance at a Gehrig, say), why not simply make it such that you pack out a 'sketch no grab bag' and 1/10, 1/100 have autos in them. Something in me kinda feels that collectors would rather get nothing than some of the autographs that are being pulled.

tl;dr version: just because you can make a product and sell it doesn't mean you should.

I'm kinda disappointed myself that I didn't make it in the set, because I played on the Yankees in T-ball for a season in 1986.

What an utter joke this product is. Following Tristar's lead, or are they actually riding Leaf's smelly jock with their similar product?

Just because there are some....doesn't mean there are many.

I'm not going to knock you on the product....it's an interesting idea. Like history of baseball this is a lottery ticket longshot at a good name. It has it's place, but I doubt people will buy a 2nd edition for the Sox or similar big name team.

The fact remains the same that a promise of a published checklist before release was made.
