You are all dead wrong. I hope he does come though and I get to eat a big crow sandwich. I will even request that i get a huge sig with "D-Bag of the Century" that automatically shows up when I post But I don't think that is going to happen. I guess FCB stands for "For Cheating Bastards" the way you are all slobbing on this guy's sack and making excuses for him! I was just trying to let folks know there was a scammer and thief out there! I have now learned my lesson and will let scammers scam away, when and if I find one in the future. It is obviously better to be sorry than safe on FCB! I guess the prudent thing to do wod have been to let him sell 8-9 more Strasburgs that he didn't have so that Wayne could go buy a few to mail out to his early buyer!

And why would thefivemajors need to save the dc# I posted it in my thread so the whole Internet could see it!

So bring on the crow but I don't think it will be me eating it!

I agree with you...but you were still wrong for blasting him 5 minutes after he sold you the card.

Anyways, everything about this rose red flags, like the recycled pictures from eBay, then the pic from far away of the 5 and then the lying about the DC and all of that.

And for the people arguing about how the innocent don't come back and argue....he's innocent until proven guilty, true. We are at the point where cards should show up now if they really were sent. Id drop a negative on the guy just for promising overnight and not delivering on that. Thats a red flag too. All the guy did was buy himself some time to save face in the short term (it worked obviously, since people still think 5majors is solid) and he'll be gone with the $$$ in the longterm...

He recycled a pic from eBay, which is questionable... but the pic "from far away" wasn't "from far away." You could clearly see 5 different sigs on 5 different cards along with the gold foiled autograph stamp (and the lack of a facsimile). I don't see where he lied about DC, though.. just that he didn't send express.

It's just too early to label him as a thief. Danimal started 10 mins after sending him the money.

Frankly you have to throw this information out the window. Two concrete issues showed problems from the beginning.

1. The seller gave him no indication that there were 3 autos (himself, myself, and Randy Shields) let alone 5.
2. He lied in his very first post about getting a scan (stolen from ebay).

The focus should not be on whether danimal jumped the gun but if these were ever mailed. Why thefivemajors has been lurking and reading our PMs but not answering and how that scan of five Strasburgs was obtained. Don't get me wrong I want to believe the guy. I really want a package to arrive any day now, but his lack of communication and not living up to the terms of our deals is enough to warrant some criticism.

Just for clarification I paid regular paypal with a cc not gift. And I think Randy Shields is a fairly reputable member and he is in agreement with me that thefivemajors is a thief or at least exhibits thief-like behavior, in which case the "if it walks like a duck rule" automatically goes into effect.

You are saying because ONE person agrees that he exhibits thief like behavior, he must be?

What exactly will you say if the Strasburg shows up? I mean, after calling a guy a thief, publicly outing him the SAME night you paid for a card and THEN it shows up?

I'd hope you would post a picture of you with your foot in your mouth. Literally.

I'd be pretty pissed if wrongfully called a thief. To put it lightly. Isn't that libel?

Maybe we should consult an internet sport chatroom lawyer :benson:[/quote:6brf7ktr]

You rang?

I have to agree with this. With most people today having color printers he could have easily printed out 5 cards on regular paper stock and cut them out.

Don't give any ideas.

I thought you were going with the angle anyone can afford a $50 scanner to scan real pics.

I am sitting at my desk wearing my bicycle helmet , drinking my chocolate milk from my scooby-doo thermos.

But like I said I have learned my lesson that it is better to give a fraudster several weeks to perpetrate his fraud rather than squash it in 10 minutes! Thanks for the leason everyone!

Dude. Nothing has been PROVED, yet. One day, you're gonna be trashed when no one is around, and you'll really appreciate someone speaking up for you. You should have kept this between you, him and the trade mods until the end game could be resolved. As of right now, you're just a bag o' tools.

"8 or 9 more Strasburgs that he didn't have"?

Dude, he sold 5 and posted a pic of all of them. And - not to insult the handicapped - but are you mentally retarded?

Hey guys, I found some cards in a burned out car in the desert.

Can you tell me if any of them are any good?

Dude who are you....I love that you remember that tag line from some really old school BMB days!

As for the fraud aspect, I hope you get your cards or money refunded.

That...or he called up a buddy who owned them and had him lay those out. I just don;t get why if they were real cards, they werent in cases, and the pic wasn't in any better detail. Again, it was helpful to his case sure. But it wasnt cut and dry that they were legit. NOt without seeing them on a scanner up close.

i think part of the reason he may be scamming you is because you opened a claim 10 minutes after you paid

Without knowing the history of this transaction, and not speaking as a moderator, but just a guy who has been around a long time, I'm shocked to see a great guy like danimal who has been around a long time without any incident whatsoever getting trashed like this. APharis, dude, sometimes you gotta know the parties involved before you start levying the heavy blows. I'm all for giving a fair shake to a new guy, but we're talking about danimal here. He wouldn't have said anything unless he had significant belief that something was wrong. I wish he would have figured that out before he paid, but clearly he did not.

Dan, I hope you get your money back or your card. Sorry this happened, and no, FCB is not for cheating bastards, but unfortunately the occasional ****** bag does slip through.
