Peavy is the 4th best pitcher in that rotation. You will see what he is like outside of Petco soon enough.

Ya his home ERA (Petco) has always been good but his away ERA always sits at 4.00+. That's why he never wanted to leave, i guess he built up the courage? SF would be perfect for him hah.

Its not all about 1-2 pitchers. I would put both of these teams 1-5 up against anyone's.

Depends on what time of year. 1-2 is ALL that matters in the playoffs. A good #5 means nothing in October.

The Phillies are pretty good. Hamels has been much better of late now that he is throwing his changeup more. Blanton has been one of the best pitchers in baseball in July. Earlier in the year he was struggling with finding his arm slot and pitching on a down hill plane. He has been doing both correctly the last several months. Even though people like to point out his faults Happ is in contention for ROY and he's the 4th starter.

The pitching staff is the only reason why the Braves are anywhere near the playoffs.

Both have been top 15 pitchers in the NL and most don't know the stats these two have put up.

I'd be willing to bet that outside of Lester-Beckett and Linecum-Cain, no two SP on one team has outperformed these two.

But are the Cardinals other 3 pitchers on the same league as Hanson, Lowe, and KK? The Braves strength is in their depth, everyone in the rotation is solid.

The Braves also have a great bullpen, only 1 person in it has an ERA over 4.0.
