It's tough to pick.I would say come Playoff time the RedSox is the team with the best pitching if healthy.

Josh Beckett[Is hands down the best postseason pitcher in baseball today!]
Jon Lester
Tim Wakefield[Very underrated and still goes out and wins]

I like the Red Sox with Beckett, Lester, Wakefield, Buchholz and whoever takes the last spot be it Matsuzaka or Penny.

Didn't the Giants have the best SP ERA in the MLB (Thought I heard on MLB network or something when they were talking about sanchez's no-no)? i forgot where can i check?

PS. The addition of garko and and freddy sanchez makes our offensive respectable

Peavy is the 4th best pitcher in that rotation. You will see what he is like outside of Petco soon enough.

Ya his home ERA (Petco) has always been good but his away ERA always sits at 4.00+. That's why he never wanted to leave, i guess he built up the courage? SF would be perfect for him hah.

Its not all about 1-2 pitchers. I would put both of these teams 1-5 up against anyone's.
Depends on what time of year. 1-2 is ALL that matters in the playoffs. A good #5 means nothing in October.

The Phillies are pretty good. Hamels has been much better of late now that he is throwing his changeup more. Blanton has been one of the best pitchers in baseball in July. Earlier in the year he was struggling with finding his arm slot and pitching on a down hill plane. He has been doing both correctly the last several months. Even though people like to point out his faults Happ is in contention for ROY and he's the 4th starter.

The Atlanta Braves have the top rotation in baseball. They are the deepest in the league 1-5.

I saw your name and I knew you were going to say that lol. I do agree though. Even though Lowe does good against the Phillies he's having a bad year and KK is bad the other three are pretty good.

Javier Vasquez: 8-7, 3.01 ERA, 158 K, 1.055 WHIP
Derek Lowe: 10-7, 4.20 ERA, 70 K, 1.401 WHIP
Jair Jurrjens: 9-7, 2.69 ERA, 93 K, 1.201 WHIP
Tommy Hanson: 5-2, 3.25 ERA, 41 K, 1.328 WHIP
Kenshin Kawakami: 5-8, 4.37 ERA, 76 K, 1.390 WHIP

The pitching staff is the only reason why the Braves are anywhere near the playoffs.

Gotta agree with you blitzer.

JAvy and Jair may be the most underrated duo in all of baseball.

Both have been top 15 pitchers in the NL and most don't know the stats these two have put up.

I'd be willing to bet that outside of Lester-Beckett and Linecum-Cain, no two SP on one team has outperformed these two.

Carpenter-Wainwright and Vasquez-Jurrjens are very, very close.

Javier Vasquez: 8-7, 3.01 ERA, 158 K, 1.055 WHIP; Adam Wainwright: 12-6, 2.80 ERA, 135 K, 1.29 WHIP
Jair Jurrjens: 9-7, 2.69 ERA, 93 K, 1.201 WHIP; Chris Carpenter: 9-3, 2.19 ERA, 78 K (Missed a few starts, only has 16), .96 WHIP

But are the Cardinals other 3 pitchers on the same league as Hanson, Lowe, and KK? The Braves strength is in their depth, everyone in the rotation is solid.

The Braves also have a great bullpen, only 1 person in it has an ERA over 4.0.
