Joe Jackson, Frank Thomas, Ed Walsh, Mark Buehrle

Buehrle is my favorite baseball player today bar-none so maybe I'm a bit biased..real tough to leave out Aparicio or Minoso.

Mets:

Seaver
Gooden
Piazza
Strawberry

It's a tough call with Gary Carter, Keith Hernandez, and Lee Mazzilli. I picked Strawberry for his 38 WAR and his 145 OPS+, both tops in team history. I picked Piazza because he said he would like to go into the HOF as a Met when he is ever elected. It's hard to NOT put a guy on your team's Mt Rushmore if you only have two guys in the HOF with your team's cap.

I kind of feel like those two are easy. But then it gets a lot tougher.

Do I just go with the future? Strasburg and Harper?

Or go with players that made an impact during their brief time here: Alfonso Soriano, Chad Cordero or Dmitri Young?
Expos?

...or maybe just Harper x4.

Dawson, Raines, Gary Carter, Vlad
What, no El Presidente?

Crossed mt mind, but over who?

vlad has to go in before tim

I loved Vladdy and he did great in his time here. However, I am sure 99% of Angels fans would go with Timmy on the monument. He was the face of the franchise for well over a decade and still is a part of the organization. This is going to piss Andrew off but if I were to replace anyone on the list with Vlad, it would be Carew.

Aaron, Mathews, Murphy, Chipper

i couldn't agree more. and The Murph deserves to be in the HOF with his stats and defensive skills from his time. no one could touch him.

Aaron Mathews Spahn maddux

But chipper glavine niekro.smoltzie all deserve consideration and heck in five years may be McCann . Loved the Dale growing up but just doesn't get there

You know Milwaukee's Rushmore could be Aaron, Spahn, Mathews, Molitor, and Yount. They belong here more anyway. Then you can have your Maddux's and Murphys ;)

Nah...you can easily place Rob Deer, Billy Jo Robidoux and Teddy Higuera in their spots. True faces of the Milwaukee Brewers :P

We will have to agree to disagree! :geek:

I picked Salmon as he is a HUGE fan favorite. At least you didn't disagree with Fregosi! :)

Phillies would be Schmidt, Carlton, Ashburn, and Dick Allen. You could argue for Robin Roberts, Grover Cleveland Alexander, Ed Delahanty, or Chuck Klein.

When the current Phillies are all said and done with their careers, you could argue that Ashburn and Dick Allen could be replaced by some combination of Utley, Halladay, Lee, Howard, Hamels, Rollins. Man it's good to be a Phillies fan right now. I guess it depends on how long you think they should be on that team to warrant Rushmore level accolades.

The two obvious ones: Craig Biggio and Jeff Bagwell, spent their entire major league careers with the team.

The next two spots (or three, since we can have 5) would be filled by some combination of these guys:

JR Richard, Mike Scott, Nolan Ryan, Roy Oswalt, Darryl Kile, Lance Berkman, Jose Cruz Sr., Jim Wynn

Personally, I am grabbing 3 of the pitchers and putting them up there (JR, Nolan and Roy are my picks).

So, JR Richards, Roy Oswalt, Craig Biggio, Jeff Bagwell for the prime 4 and Nolan Ryan as the 5th wheel.

As for right now with the Cardinals I have to go Musial,McGwire,Pujols, Jack Buck probably. I know Buck was an announcer but he was a big deal to alot of Cardinals fans. There are others you could put on the list Rogers Hornsby if you take out McGwire. I would say Mac needs to be on there just because him and Sosa saved baseball in 98.

The Tigers, having been around over 100 years, need three mountains: the G rock, the C rock, and the K rock.

Mt G:

Chas. Gehringer (HOF)
Hank Greenberg (HOF)
Goose Goslin (HOF)
Kirk Gibson

Mt C:

Ty Cobb (HOF)
Sam Crawford (HOF)
Mickey Cochrane (HOF)
Miguel Cabrera

Mt K:

Al Kaline (HOF)
George Kell (HOF)
Harvey Kuenn
Justin K-lander

I think Pudge has to be in the mix also. More years as a White than a Red.

I didn't disagree with the choice of Carew, I said if I had to replace one...it would be him. Carew did great things while wearing the Halos uni and was an integral part of our success in the early 80's. Vlad was a monster for us in his prime but I am more than comfortable with our picks.

Please don't take offense to this because I realize you are a young person but you need to read up on Hornsby, Ozzie, Brock, Gibson, etc... I am a McGwire fan but he doesn't belong on the bathroom wall at the Cardinals Mount Rushmore. Please don't believe the hype either, baseball would have survived without Sosa or McGwire, they just brought people back sooner.

Jack Buck on the other hand I think is a great idea but you'd have to bump Pujols to get him on there.

Trust me I read up on all of them multiple times. I think you have to have Pujols as he is Cardinals baseball at this moment. I think Buck needs to be on there I was hesitant about McGwire with all of the Steriod stuff. I think maybe Ozzie or Brock go there but which one do you pick? Hornsby I said should be on there. So who is the ultimate Mt.Rushmore for STL Baseball?
