If you are a Yankee fan and you do not like this deal you are CRAZY. Granderson is about as good as it gets in numerous aspects of the game. Aside from being an all star lead-off hitter with huge power and speed, he is one of the best club house guys in the game. Granderson is one of the coolest guys around and will fit perfectly in pinstrips andwill belt plenty of homeruns down that short porch, if you value Austin Jackson over Curtis Granderson you are crazy; and I am huge on Jackson.

Agreed.

No way the Yanks should turn this down.

Agreed across the board. I am not too big on guys that strike out 123 times with 4 home runs to show for it.....

He might pan out, might now, but Granderson WILL have some BIG years for the Yankees.

The Tigers are the only winners in this deal.

Give me a break. The Yankees gave up a CF prospect who can only hope he'll be half as good as Granderson is, a situational lefty in Coke that drew nothing but heartburn from Yankee fans, and a pitcher in Kennedy more likely to develop rhumatoid arthritis than a plus pitch. They get back an all-star CF who plays both sides of the ball at 28 years old.

My question after seeing this trade is now this. Does the departure of Austin Jackson now put the Yankees out of the running for Roy Halladay? I would hope they wouldn't trade away the system in both Jackson and Montero in one off-season.

It might stink to trade a system away, but if you got those two players back, I can't really argue with it.

Granderson will be wearing pinstripes for a long time. And Roy is one of the best.

I still doubt they deal Montero.

As far as this deal goes: Great for the Yanks.
Potential to be pretty good for the Tigers.
Suspect for the D-Backs.

Arizona Republic just sent an email saying:

"Right-handers Edwin Jackson and Ian Kennedy will join the Diamondbacks; Max Scherzer and Daniel Schlereth are heading to Detroit."

As much as I think Granderson is overrated and that the Yanks should sign someone like Cameron to platoon with him, I can't argue with this deal one bit from their standpoint.

I don't see how anyone can say the Tigers are the only winners here. They did ok, sure. But there's no way this deal even gets talked about if they weren't in serious financial troubles.

Time to buy A-Jax?

I'm not really collecting cards anymore, but to think his cards can do better than Granderson's have is very questionable. If you love what happened with CG's cards, go for it.

Honestly, if the Yanks had traded Coke for Nick Adenhart, I'd be cool with it. Anything to get him gone.

Not the most PC example you could have used...

Coke was ok at times, hope this trade works out however.
