If I remember right the 99 buybacks had the hologram diamond under the number 1 like yours. My /15 buyback is in the safe deposit box so I can not look at it right now. But I think that they have a oval hologram with the COA number on it.

Well with MP showing the back of the /15 card and Roy and Bruce both thinking the back of my card is consistent with the /100 card, I assume that's what I have. Hopefully when I return it to BGS, they will print its that buyback on the authentication label.

CAN ANYONE TELL ME IF HAVING THIS GRADED AND ALL MEANS ANYTHING TO THE VALUE OF THE CARD (not that I'm selling it), considering that 8.5 may be the best grade ever given the card?

Just so all out there know, Inc50, the seller of the #30/30 fraudulent buyback card I previously posted, ebay auction 360090442568, is now sending me repeated messages through ebay to pay him. This is a week after I explained to him about the card, thought he was an innocent buyer of the card, and told him I wasn't paying but would not leave any negative feedback or take any further action.

Now 2 messages within 24 hours stating that I need to pay asap.

Since I've never not paid a seller in 12 years on ebay, anyone have any advice how to handle this situation?

Steve, can you prove to ebay the card is fraudulent? If so you have no problems. He can't leave you any negatives. Also, with your feedback rating, I highly doubt ebay will cancel your account. I would stick to your guns and not pay it. Why risk lossing $150+. By the way thanks for quickly sending out my Jeter card. :D

Well ok then, I'll "not back down, I'll stand my ground " to quote Tom Petty.
I think I can convince ebay that there was no 30/30 buyback but ebay takes a stand many times, that with collectables of any type, they do not decide what is authentic and what is not. I understand that- They can't be an expert in every collectable.
But we'll let it go. I'm leaving in am for 8 days. If he persists in writing, I'll write ebay, file a complaint, and leave neg feedback.

You guys have a good time while I'm gone. Going to Phoenix where my best friend is a concert promotor and is single handedly running a 4 day festival near Scottsdale. We went last year and had a blast. He's even letting a good friend of mine, Jerome Calia, perform for 2 sets on the day Pat Benetar plays. The guy is very nervous as 4,000 people is a whole lot different than the typical bar / restaraunt scene.

I'll look forward to reading what's been happening next week and until then THINK GRIFFEY!

What kind of card experts does Ebay have? Everyone here knows that the card has been altered, but would they?
I would probably go to Ebay live help and tell them the situation. There is really not much that the seller can do to you. He could give you a non-paying bidder strike, but Ebay won't suspend you for one. He can't leave you a negative. If he keeps harassing you leave him a negative with an explaination, I sure potential bidders on other auctions would not like to see altered card in his feedback.

Good luck Steve. I hope it all works out for you. It's a shame that someone would alter a great card like that to try and get more money.

A Griffey/Cabrera dual patch auto from Reflections is up on eBay with a BIN of $150. That's not a bad price. There's no way I can pick it up, so I thought I would pass it along just in case you guys didn't see it.

Hey guys. I don't know if anyone is interested or not, but I am going to try and move this:

2005PrestigeNLEastChamps.jpg

It's a 2005 Prestige NL East Champs card. There are only 18 and they were only available through redemption. I thought I would offer it up here first. If anyone is interested, feel free to PM or e-mail me.

I apologize, I misunderstood. It's a good deal if someone wants to go after it.
