The canucks are a sad group of *******.

6 on 2? Give me a break.

Fixed it for you. It was Thornton. :)

Haha, true.

Now we again get confirmation that the Sedin sisters have less testicular fortitude than the Williams sisters. I love how the refs protect them so they don't have to back up their cheap shots.

Haha, loved that. So pathetic that the guy didn't even attempt to push Marchand and just looked at the ref for help.

I don't know how anyone can be a fan of these guys. Goats Thornton into a fight and then runs away.

Ah well, great game that could have been better if Marchand didn't lose his mind for a second. This is why the realignment needs to happen. These two teams need to face each other more often.

Great game to watch. And yes, we all know the Sedin's contribute nothing with their physicality. It would be like asking Ichiro to charge the mound. Not in their game....not gonna happen.

Now that was a great game Bruins-Canucks. Had everything that can make NHL best sport on planet to watch. Hate, passion, fights, guys going all out. Not the crap you see most nights where players barely touch each other all night and play with no passion. Game wasn't really about two points. Much more than that. Bruins losing Lucic so early hurt, then Marchy. Down two of best players and they still hung right in their to end.

It sounds like it was a great game. Biggest fail was that it wasn't televised nationally. It's great to see the homerism taken to such lengths. Now the Canucks are being called bullies? wait. I thought they were *******. Whatever brah. The Bruins are as dirty as everyone else. Marchand attempting to injure Salo. Classy.

Canucks as bullies. Now that is funny.

Yeah, I'm not buying Canucks as bullies. Well, except for the 6-on-1, which apparently not an attempt to injure? I don't know, I'm confused.

What cracked me up the most was the dickwad move of not dropping the gloves. Quick story:
Before basketball practice this week, a couple of my players were asking me about hockey fights. I was telling them about The Code, the book about the fighters and their unwritten rules (great read, by the way, if you haven't read it). So one kid asks me what happens if a player pretends to drop his gloves and tricks the other guy into it. I tell him it rarely happens, because it's such a punk move.

I guess I have some explaining to do on Monday.

Congrats Iggy on Goal #500!

The 42nd player to get to 500 goals, the 3rd active, and only the 15th to do it with 1 team.

Congrats to him, glad he was able to get it at home and enjoy it, and not in the debacle of a game in Boston.

I don't think the problem is playing dirty. I agree, all teams do it. The difference his all the **** talking that Vancouver does when there is a ref around or when there is glass between them and the other team. As soon as there is the threat of having to back up their dirty play they skate away or hide behind a ref. Hey, if I lived in Vancouver I'm sure I'd ignore the bad and like them for being a very talented team.

As far as the Marchand hit, I don't think he was trying to injure someone. He does that a lot when someone his coming at him hard. Even Julien, who has been critical of Marchand's antics in the past, defended the move:
"All I'm going to tell you is that I always told my players that they need to protect themselves. The last thing I want my players to do is get hit and then end up with a concussion, and they have to protect themselves.

"Whether it's the right way or the wrong way, it'll depend on how the league looks at it. I'd rather have a guy take a two-minute penalty than turn his back to the play, stand up straight, and then get his face knocked into the glass and be out for maybe the rest of the year with a concussion, or maybe end his career like [Marc] Savard.

"In my opinion, if guys start protecting themselves the way Marchand did, maybe guys will stop taking runs at other guys because that's the consequences you end up paying for taking runs at guys, too. Who knows where we're going to go with this? I know we're all trying hard to fix that part of the game, but it's still there, and it's still not fixed."

If the Canucks teammates really had a problem with it and wanted to drop gloves with Marchand, he would have backed up his actions without hesitation no matter who wanted to go with him. He gets himself into hot water quite a bit, but he doesn't back down from anyone even though he's usually giving up quite a bit of size in every fight.

more bad news on the injury front for the Penguins. Jordan Staal will miss 4-6 weeks with a knee injury as a result of a knee on knee collision with Mike Rupp this past Friday night and James Neal will miss an undisclosed period of time with a broken foot suffered in last night's loss to the Devils. Craig Adams left today's practice early after "falling awkwardly" to the ice.

there are also rumors swirling that Sidney Crosby will not return until the Playoffs if at all this season.

Just going by what some of the Boston trolls posted on some of the game threads. The Canucks are far from being bullies. You can't have it both ways. My problem was the play after the whistle where Bruin players would get 1 or 2 shots in when play was dead (pretty common in the SCF). Smack talk? I'm sure that goes both ways. Sure, I'd love it if the knuckleheads would drop the gloves more often but we don't really have any enforcers. I don't know about Weise, while he fought Horton, he is way out of Thorntons league. He should have taken his lumps and gone for it. It certainly isn't the hockey I used to watch growing up where people weren't afraid to drop the gloves (you can blame the league for that). That's one thing the Canucks lack is a physical presence. The Sedins are not soft, Hank played with a back injury most of the playoffs, but they are not aggressive either. As much as Canucks fans want them to throw their weight around it just won't happen.

Marchand didn't even try to play the puck and he knew who was coming in. Joolien is an ass saying that Marchand was protecting himself. From what? A slow moving Finn? Salo is the last guy to hammer someone into the boards (he'd break if he did). Now the guy is out with a concussion and maybe a shoulder injury. Yes, the Canucks should have painted Marchand to the boards. I have no idea who was on the ice at the time.
