I can assure you that the 05 BC Tulo Super would be voted into the Museum.

Based on what? Do all superfractors get in then?
If so, put them in their own folder so those that aren't impressed, dont have to bother looking...they look the same as 5000 other superfactors, and just slightly different than 100,000 others in different colors.

But maybe since he is soooo good, we should let all tulos in?

PS, don't get me wrong. I like tulo, and own a gold 9.5, but to me it is not that impressive or interesting to look at.
I have seen so many supers that all look very similar, they really are not that interesting to look at IMHO.

I would say maybe the top 10 supers should be there, and I don't see tulo making that list.

Are you strictly and vintage and/or HOF collector?

There is a huge % of FCB that would have 0 problem with the 05 Tulo Super...this would be a no brainer. This is also why I suggested different qualifications and committees for different time frames.

Just my thought, but the whole idea seems fraught with peril, and would probably cause more harm than good on the boards. Not to mention things like "does the card get removed from the HOF is a member sells it", etc.

already covered, you simply have to own it to post it originally and it won't be taken down if the card changes hands.

maybe have two sections of this museum? Vintage and modern. I consider anything pre 1970 as vintage and 70 - current as modern.

I would say the tulo 05 BDP super should make the cut as would his Rookie cup 1/1 auto i believe it is. dont see any of his other cards making it though. but i think there should be a different standard for each section.

should this make it? some may say yes and others would say no.

Superfractors are highly sought after by player collectors, most would agree that they are beautiful. A RC Superfractor of a player like Tulo would would have no problem fitting into the museum, Vintage guys would likely skip on by, but an overwhelming portion of the board would be fine with it.

No, I collect all.
Vintage, Retired, Veterans, Current. I just don't see TULO as being "Museum Worthy" at this stage in his career..

The list IMO would have to include players that have made it to the bigs...supers have been around since 05....Tulo just got 5th in MVP voting....I'd like to see your list.

I love Mantle and I can't afford to be a Vintage collector....so it is safe to say, I'm not the guy to ask...I wouldn't be on the committee :D

I'd like to hear what some Vintage guys say though.

If we did top 10 supers he would make it....Keep in mind that many of the great supers are in the hands of Wossa

A superfractor of Tulo may be nice for rockie fans or player collector, but most could give a toot as this stage in his career, imho.

Most people would be more interested in looking at a rare griffey insert I think.

Ok, i would be for that. Top 10 supers...when it gets to 11, it could be bumped off. I think more than 10 supers would be too many...jmo

I vote no to the card, but I also vote no to the museum.
How would it be any different from the Beckett MB "Hall of Fame"?
Yet, when a HoF was mentioned here everyone agreed it was no good. Cool cards are fun to look at, but isn't that what sigs are for? Photobucket links?
I think a "Museum" is just a good way to get people into arguments.

Its kind of a given that a huge percentage of the FCB would vote for most any BC super, however almost none of the guys who have one have played for any significant amount of time to make their cards 'historical' or museum worthy. Forming committees doesn't really help anything because even those on committees will have their own biases...after all, who decides who gets to be on a committee?

In the end, I don't really need for someone or a group of someones to tell me what the most important cards in the hobby are... although its not your intention/I think you mean well by having this kind of thread, its pretty presumptuous to have such a thread when one thinks about it. However it really sounds like the best its going to get would be to have some kind of variation of the random card thread, this could be enjoyable if done right.

...looking at a Griffey insert over a $2,000 1/1 card of a great young player with 3 full seasons under his belt at the age of 25?

Once again, you keep telling me about how you wouldn't include the Tulo....3 others have said it would be in and you would be wrong if we ran a poll right now.

I hear what you are saying, but you are in the minority of who voted for museum or not.
I like the idea of a museum, because I like to see whats out there. I just don't want to see just a bunch of modern rookies.
PS, I would LOVE to see some of your nicer DK's in there...that is one hell of an impressive set, and MUCH better than most supers.
If someone doesn't want to get their feelings hurt, don't submit to a poll. I got over it :D

I NEVER look at photobucket links unless I'm looking to trade. I am not familiar with Beckett's HOF, so I can't comment there.

I can't really understand why there would be fighting over awesome cards...

I voted no to this card as well, although it is gorgeous and would definitely be welcomed in my collection. If a museum were to exist, I would think only a VERY small number of cards should be considered. A true best of the best.
