As far as Bumgarner, his fastball wasn't anything special as others have said, but I don't think that is cause for concern. He's extremely young, and there is precedent for young pitchers to increase velocity as they become more adapted to the major leagues and professional baseball. See Jon Lester, who was throwing in the high 80's low 90's when he first came up and is now sitting in the mid 90's.
As far as his changeup, it's awful. In the very first inning I started guessing with 100% accuracy when he was throwing it. From his delivery it couldn't be more obvious, he slows down his whole back side and shoulder to a ridiculous degree. It didn't help that Molina was calling it with the frequecy as if it was the Lincecum changeup.
His command was excellent and he deserved a win. For a MLB debut, its an easy B+ or A-. Especially given the late notice etc.
