It just amazes me that people will spend that much money without doing research. Beckett offers a guide to every card ever created, including buyback autos (you have to pay to see how much it is worth).

A simple search of Pujols autos and you will find that one never existed.

He started selling items under id jmvariety09 I bought something and when I found out he was selling fake buybacks, and other autos/patches I refused to pay, needless to say I left him a negative warning members about his fake Topps Rookie Premier Autos and Buybacks he then used another id to hit a BIN on one of my auctions and left a neg with id blameitonthealcohol, ebay actually removed it though. Just a couple more ids to block for you guys. ;)

edit: I also filed a complaint with ebay as well did two other members who contacted me through ebay, looks like they did nothing about it. Ebay claimed the cards weren't fake. I even went through bought items awhile back and saw him buy regular cards, then a week or two later all of a sudden they were slabbed in buyback topps cases and autographed. Hes not just taking in the money but he;d be looking at serious prison time with as much cash as he is swindling people out of.

What's the qualifications for a business to be covered by the BBB? I know he assumes the name of "Pristine"-something. Couldn't you prove that if he has so much income in a year doing business as that "business" that he should be reportable to the BBB?

You have to as a business pay to be a member of the BBB. Even so, they can't do anything to the business other than report them in their own service as not having a good service. Plenty of businesses aren't members.

I wouldn't suggest anyone do anything stupid. You might want to poke fun of him and say something to him but honestly if he didn't personally screw you on an item I'd think it better if people who were screwed had the chance to confront him instead of a lot of uninvolved people getting in the mix of things.

As for spreading the word...I do not believe that is against the law.Hell...any time you go to any business to buy something and are not satisfied you spread the word. There is no way they can bust everyone for that. But having something printed up and distributed or something like that would most likely cause a problem.Like I said before...if any of you guys who got scammed got together and compared notes and took it to the FBI or the police...I am sure they would have to do something.I would imagine it would add up quite quickly and the law cannot overlook several thousands of dollars worth of forgeries. If they went after the memorabilia dealers then there is no reason they wouldn't go after this guy.But you are never going to get everyone to agree to stop buying from or selling to him.As long as he has things people want(whether it be cash or cards) people will deal with him.As many long drawn out discussions as we have had on these boards you guys ought to know that not everyone thinks alike and not everyone will do alike.Even if it seems to be for the better of everyone. There is always a cog or two in the wheel.

Anyone know how he does this? Does he get the items signed in-person, then buys the buyback cases from random cards and slabs the 1/1 on the card? He claims he is "STUNTIN FROM STATE 2 STATE!!!"

Thats pretty funny. In his auctions he states thats he been in the sports memorabilia/cards business for over 20 years. What was he 2 when started selling?

Heres another picture of him i have ( I always assumed he was at least 30 years old, if not older)....

And JCmint is probably right, chances are nothing will happen (Although i do believe one day he will rip off the wrong person, who will actually confront him at one of these shows, im sure it isn't hard to locate him). Every year for the past 4 or 5 years at least there is a similar post like this on some message board (used to be on BMB all the time), where people say that they are gonna confront him or really embarass him, but i have never heard of anyone actually going threw with it. I have also always heard that he usually has a few members of his "entourage" with him at these shows.

This guy makes a ton of cash though. Every day he has mulitple feedbacks left for him, for items that costed hundreds of dollars. Some days he has over $2500 of auctions closing. Everyday though there is a few hundred dollars worth of FB left and its everyday for years and years and thats only on ebay. I bet he brings in more cash from his other ebay ids, other websites and setting up in person at all these big shows as well (He states that he is at every big show in the US). I bet he makes well over $100K+ per year on cards and autographs.

Anyone down for dressing up like a Cleveland cop, "arresting" him, then escorting his ass out of the building?

I don't know all the ins and outs of the law, but I know that posing as cop can get you in a lot of trouble.

This is not his auction (i don't think) but I think someone is mad at Topps or fake sellers, not really clear to me.

Two ideas:
Any of you ebay detectives that can find definitive proof (cards with the same serial number before and after patch faking) or can make a very good case (show his buying of cheap bowman originals and selling of expensive ones) should make up a handout for the show. List all the evidence, known ebay id's, and helpful hints on finding a patch faker. Leave stacks of them around the show or hand them out. Even if you don't want to make it specifically about him it might be a nice idea to do and hand out.

Have a group of people really take up his time at the show haggling over prices and cards, and then after 10-15 minutes just decide not to buy.
