Two ideas:
Any of you ebay detectives that can find definitive proof (cards with the same serial number before and after patch faking) or can make a very good case (show his buying of cheap bowman originals and selling of expensive ones) should make up a handout for the show. List all the evidence, known ebay id's, and helpful hints on finding a patch faker. Leave stacks of them around the show or hand them out. Even if you don't want to make it specifically about him it might be a nice idea to do and hand out.

Have a group of people really take up his time at the show haggling over prices and cards, and then after 10-15 minutes just decide not to buy.

I showed proof on bmb and was suspended.

Anyone down for dressing up like a Cleveland cop, "arresting" him, then escorting his ass out of the building?

If you are still having that cookout, you should invite him! Now that would be funny. That way everybody can give him a piece of thier mind.

All you guys have to do is contact the FBI in regards to this guy.
It is fraud plain and simple, and an agent (who may also collect cards) would love to get a hold of this kind of stuff.
Be on the lookout this weekend for federal agents confiscating autographed jerseys. Not because the autos are fake, but because the jerseys themselves are knockoffs. They did this at the Super Bowl last year, and I would not put it past them to do it again at a show like that.

Why dont you guys get two t shirts printed up that say " This Dealer sells fake patches.. BEWARE" but you put that on the back of the shirt. and every 30 minutes if there is enough of you up there, give the shirt to someone else at then go stand at his booth.

are any of you actually going to fight him?

$20 says no. Although I wish I could attend to talk about his reputation and business practices. Physical violence will not stop him. You'll get arrested, he'll walk and he'll be back on Monday with more patches and a war story of 'another jealous' dealer.

It just amazes me that people will spend that much money without doing research. Beckett offers a guide to every card ever created, including buyback autos (you have to pay to see how much it is worth).

A simple search of Pujols autos and you will find that one never existed.

Unfortunately, that database is far from comprehensive when it comes to buyback autographs.

Yeah but if you guys contact the FBI and have them verify with topps about the actual existence of said cards the problem would be solved. If you guys really want to start this up...like I said...print out or save all the auction info including pics of things you know is fake and then when you have accumulated a nice stack submit it to a local FBI office.Tell them all they have to do is verify with topps the info you send them and BOOM!They can nail a big time forger.I have a hard time believing any agent you speak to would not be interested. We are talking thousands and thousands of dollars here.

Not to mention if the clown pressed charges. Lose-lose situation.

After I saw this pic, I instantly remembered that I saw this clown at the National @ Chicago last year.

I remember a guy (looking identical to the guy in this pic), who was wearing a pro-bowl jersey, a gangksta flatbill hat, outrageously baggy pants, and a pair of Jordans. Now, the only reason I remember all of this so clearly is because the guy was acting like a total ****** to the dealers. I was at a booth (near the table of the prospecting guys from the old BMB) and I was looking at a dealers football patch/auto cards (had some really nice AP's and Santonio Holmes).

The patch faker walked up to the display case that I was looking at, reaches over the table and opens up the display case from the dealers side of the table and pulled out about 5 or 6 cards that he wanted to look at (all were pretty high end). The dealer came over and was like what the **** are you doing? Then Burge was like, "How much for these 5?". Dealer said a price (can't remember exactly, but it was around $2500. Mr. Patchfaker pulls out an envelope that is absolutely BLOATED with $100 bills. He counts out about 25 of them (which seemed like a tiny percent of the bills in the envelope because it was still overly stuffed with money and I'm willing to bet that it wasn't his only envelope of cash), grabs the cards, and goes on his way.

You can't just reach over and take cards out of a case like that. I'm always very polite and use my please's and thank you's when asking dealers about their cards. I was shocked at what this guy did, not only at his actions, but the way he treated people was awful (walked around like he was hot **** and was above everybody else - gave smart ass answers, just an overall ******). At first I thought he was trying to steal them while the dealer wasn't looking.

The one and only time I was suspended was for mentioning his name(by that jerk-off jeffREMOVED).

Sometimes I read articles about how much politicians earn in a year, so does that mean a person's taxes can be viewed by the public if requested? If so, then someone could request his taxes to see how much he makes. His profit has to be through the roof since he purchases the orignal cards for so little, so if he doesn't have a ridiculous profit than wouldn't it be tax evasion? If the police served him a search warrant would they find a room with cut-up patches, exacto knifes, and scissors? I don't know the probability of these things; I just know I watch too many movies.

I'll also take any chance I can get to post my suspected card scans. Hopefully they'll eventually do someone some good.

Politicians are public servants. You can look up that, teachers, and other public service jobs, but not just private individuals.

Nope. Just means many politicians release their returns to shoe their sources of income.

Right, the income from the political appointment is public record. All other income is private and, if not frozen, some politicians show ROIs in order to appear forthcoming.

Someday, Burge will get busted for tax evasion or some other shady activity.
He'll screw over the wrong person one of these days (maybe an IRS agent who collects cards) and then he'll finally get what's coming to him.

OK, I read the whole thing. No one has suggested what might be the simplest way to catch him in the act:

Do the investigative work FOR law enforcement, including A STING! We all must have a bunch of those cheap "large field" GU cards that sell for like $5-10 (2005 Absolute, or Prime Patches are two good examples). Just document the exact serial number (take a picture using a mirror so you can see the front and back simultaneously), get date-locked photo evidence (post them here for instance), then sell him the exact cards he uses to do his dirty work.

Then, wait for that honey-pot you gave him to show up on eBay, and bam, he's busted with iron-clad evidence. Take that evidence to someone who might help and see what happens. I would think that if you went to the post office and said: "I would like to report postal fraud," you'd at least get time with a postal inspector (as an added bonus, a lot of the Postal Inspectors laise/dual hat with the F.B.I.).

Sting baby, sting. Just don't do anything that would qualify as entrapment. Hell, even if you do, I guess the proof you give whoever would still need to be backed up by their own investigation.

And if you can't get anyone to care about what this guy is doing, lets officailly **** can the idea of getting him busted. It'll take lynch-mob justice at this point.
