Maybe just the name Razor, being that it's a generic noun, is hurting them somewhat as far as getting their name out there to the non-message board/Beckett reading public.

just my .02[/quote]

I mentioned this before and was instantly villified. What was so entertaining was some guy named BowmanChromeAddict was leading the charge against me.I suppose I can't blame him, it was trendy to jump on the Razor bandwagon then like so many others.I still can't help but think of Gilette when I see this stuff.

Im sure if Ebay had a proper search function I could. However, your statement leads to the homerism effect this site has for Razor. To be honest, I have nothing against them and I think their product looks nice. However, the situation of the mods and admins on this site constantly giving them a reach around effect dosent help them out at all. Trying to stiffel people from pointing out flaws will not help them out. The simple fact remains that most people have not heard of Razor. I only heard of them because of poker cards and thus led to me learning about baseball cards. However, I did not learn this from their website. I was one of the people who stumbled onto their site and was not given hardly any information as to what they are about. I learned from this specific site and no where else on the internet. Their sales in my opinion and to most of the people who have seen the sales of the Oval Office, are falling short of expected pricing. In my opinion the sites admins/mods/complete razor followers, are doing a disservice to Razor by constantly telling them they are doing everything right and nothing is wrong.

Typical ignorance in this statement. Some of the biggest critics of the brand are members of the staff.

You are reading much too far into my statement. I was asking for examples simply for the reason that I believe it is far too easy to say "sales have been dissapointing" and not qualify why or give examples of dissapointing sales. If it is a fair statement then fine but saying it without evidence is just making an assumption. To go even further, calling me a homer for asking for evidence is worse. I've been very critical of Razor's recent moves with Chrome cards as have many other mods, so don't overblow the homerism thing.

By the way, here's an example I found.

[ebay:ycg6kngb]290295823437[/ebay:ycg6kngb] - Tyler Razor - $1,010
[ebay:ycg6kngb]110353026199[/ebay:ycg6kngb] - Tyler Topps - $565

Now maybe there are examples of bad sales out there, I just would like to see them.

WOW!

You are a "pricing guru?"

If you were, then you'd know that the President Tyler cut from Razor came from a pack that has an SRP of probably 75-100 times that of the same cut from Topps.

To compare an autograph from a product that has an SRP of what $2k or something to a pack that has an SRP of $2.99 just proves the original poster's point.

Please, how many packs of heritage will you have to buy to get that kind of cut? That is how you have to compare them, not just saying one is a cheaper back so its always a better value.

I mean a cut auto is a cut auto is it not? To me it is the presentation that matters most, not the brand.

At times LLWES, at times

It's all at times. Each action is judged on its own merits independent of who is taking the action - at least on my part. If Razor/Topps/Donruss does something good - I compliment them. If they do something stupid - I say so. To say that the staff isn't objective when it comes to Razor is outrageous when I can count at least three who have been highly critical of a number of the brand's moves.

A cut auto is a cut auto?

Not quite.

Is a 1/1 Evan Longoria auto from Bowman Sterling the same as a 1/1 Evan Longoria auto from Upper Deck Rookie Edition?

C'Mon...that's easy.

That's not comparable to a John Tyler, there are the possibilities of tons of Longoria 1/1s out there. Also, you have dramatically different collecting bases going after them. There are a very limited amount of Tylers out there and if there was brand preference you'd think it'd fall with the favored well known brand, in this case Topps, not Razor.

Additionally the crux of the argument was the cost of packs, you need to look at the cost to pull that card, not the cost of 1 pack.

Only recently.

I don't want to sidetrack this thread but I wouldn't say it is outrageous to claim that all individuals have been objective when it comes to Razor talk. Heck, I recall reading one post where some claimed that Razor Sig Series is a perfect product for kids under 7 to collect. (Um, not at all!) I am sure I could list more but that isn't what I am trying to do here. I was just agreeing with the other person who posted who said that sometimes the extra care given to Razor turned some people off on Razor. I bought Razor. I bought a lot of Razor just like you. I want Razor Signature Series to succeed. I supported Razor back when some never would give it a chance. (Original Razorbacker in old beckett days). I could however sit off to the side and see the emotion, committment and passion that is used when staff replies to anything Razor related. Anything wrong with that passion? Maybe yes Maybe No. Probably no. But, at least be empathetic (not sympathetic) towards those that have an opinion.

Chris,

Is the S, T, F, (U get the picture) option available on this board?

It would be very useful in Razor threads.

I assume you are talking about the foe feature which is available.

Your assumption is incorrect.

I don't need to foe anyone, but I'd love to tell idiots to STFU all the time.

I am just saying that Royal Rookies calimed the same thing with the amount of autos of each player were going to be decided by the # of cases produced and the players would be paid based on the amount of cards used.. Well, the players got shorted..... A year later you had dealers with stacks of each player.

Main reason why the players always ran from Just Minors in the beginning....

Its a legit question if the company is the one claiming they are going to destroy them.

A legit question that was asked about 8 pages earlier in the thread.

And these cards have been available for 1 day and there are people already greatly concerned with if they will really be destroyed or not. You've been told they will be and you don't even know if any will be left.

but am not going to read this whole thread....

Why not?

If you've read one Razor thread, you've read them all. Razor haters, Razor backers, over emotional mods on the subject....

And that is why everyone of these threads go way too many pages long and it is the same 'ol same 'ol from both sides of the argument.

They get old.

It just bugs me that I purchased 6 of these Metal's w/o and worry or concern and there are instigators (INSTIGATORS!!!) who haven't bought a single Razor box or single who add fuel to the ever burning fire.
