I tossed out a low bid and ended up winning it. It's ugly, but I like it.
This Snider is pretty nice. My first SportKings.
A few minor league cards, lead by former Dodger Rocky Bridges.

A couple GU cards, including a nice booklet 3X.



Murphy's Law. I had been watching a seller with one of these for probably over a year. not once did he ever adjust the price. No offers. I think I may have even reached out and said it would be sold at $X and either got no reply or a no. One lists at auction and I win it at the opening big. What do you want to bet a few more will show up now? Odd issue by the Padres. Not sure why he is included, but it is kind of cool.

Finally, a fun lot of Dodger marketing material/paperwork. I like this stuff if it's in the 60s-80s, mainly, because older would be less affordable, plus it's heart of Garvey era.

Garvey Heritage /25. I believe I just need the dual Garvey/Burroughs auto /25 and the first one I saw just sold a few days ago (it was a redemption). I'll wait and hopefully they fall into a decent range, like most of the others have.

Another SP 1/1. I think I may have passed 1/3 of the Garvey "set" by now, since there are 99 of them.

Mexican Hit magazine with a nice multi-page Garvey article with pics.

Not going to go crazy, as the market softens, but this /5 was a nice price.
Have been trying to win this patriotic May since I first saw them hit the market. It finally happened at my price. /99.

Buehler. Injuries to all 3 of these pitchers has really derailed their seasons (and their card prices in some cases).

Finally, it's been a long time since I have added a nice 56T auto. This is a dupe, but never a bad idea to add a Dodger auto from 1956 Topps.

Another Y Garcia for the Dodgers. Last time it was Yimi, this time it's Yunior. Hopefully Yunior has a better career.
Orlando Hudson lot. Heard he didn't like signing Dodger cards, maybe he softened. I assume this was an organized signing...or I got fooled.

Garvey ball. I have plenty of Garvey autographs, but this is more of a specific issued ball, rather than a regular OLB that was signed randomly. Comes with the little UDA card as well.

Couple more Tribute Garvey base/parallel.

Did a BIN, thinking this looked like 60/99, but the scan made it hard to tell and i didn't want to chance it. I was right! Next best version to the 6/xx jersey #.

And the weird one of the day, Hank Lebost, a former bat boy of the 1916 Brooklyn team! I happened upon it by chance and it was cheap, but there is enough of a connection for me to want to try to win it. The only Dodger bat boy I feel is famous enough to actually chase a signature from was "The Brow", but he died very young and would probably cost me too much anyway. However, glad i won and this is a cool novelty piece to go with the rest of my Dodger collection.

Really happy to land this. Figured I'd get outbid. Splurged a bit, but I love this card. I picked up 4 of the ones /15 a year or two ago and when I saw this was a 1/1, figured I had no shot. Archives are selling stronger this year than I recall from years past.

A few more Garvey parallels slipping in. /75 and /250. I'll keep going if i can find them cheap, with cheap shipping. $5+ to ship a $1 card doesn't work for me anymore.

Muncy. As usual, I really like what Topps comes up with for their odd product lines, like Big League.

A couple older cards that I probably already have (Gagne for sure, can't recall with Konerko).

These blues can be tough to win, even scrubs like Reyes. This is a new add.


Decided to grab another Hudson lot from the same sell as the other. They have a bunch of same card lots. I am assuming they did a signing or may even know Hudson, as there was some gamer stuff available too.


Finally a couple guys in non-Dodger uniforms that played for the Dodgers. Sheffield is a desired 61 Heritage and is /5.

These were only available to season ticket holders, a chromium set by Topps featuring the 14 (at the time) Dodger Rookies of the Year. I have this already, but you rarely see it offered and when they are cheap enough, I buy more.


This last item needs more research. It was advertised as a game issue/used jersey. It went for about $115. I don't know enough about jerseys to know. He is a scrub and it sounds like this is a quality jersey, even if its not a player issue version, which puts the price right in that range either way. I have been reading and watching videos about Majestic jerseys, but it seems most are trying to weed out fakes, instead of gamers vs "authentic" jerseys.

This is a cool base with the lower edge tag heat applied (instead of sewn), has the inside wash tag, vented pit area...all things that are a good sign apparently. The buttons look high quality, nice MLB logo on the neck, everything else is stitched and looks decent. Size 44, which apparently is a pretty generic size. It has what looks like another heat applied decal near the main tag with his name, number, size and year with a QR code, but that code doesn't bring up anything. it also looks like it will peel off, where as the other tag would not.

I just don't know. I bought it because I like the Dodger of course, but because it was #6 too. if anyone has any good insight on Majestic Authentic Collection Cool Base jerseys that can share some knowledge or view some photos are advise what they think. Darwin Barney 2015 #6
