Don't have them all in hand yet, but down to 1 more top 25 WNBA autograph. I have looked at several articles about who is/was the best, also grabbed up "snubs" and "just missed the cut" players from the list. I am now working on grabbing anyone else that was a league MVP or played in a few ASGs while I can still get most of them relatively cheap. I don't know if the WNBA will ever have a similar following for memorabilia as NBA, but it was fairly easy to complete this run without spending a ton. Several of the women are in the Naismith HOF as well, probably more to follow. The whole Griner/Russia thing made me a bit leery to chase her, as I didn't want to pay a premium for the whole issue going down, but considering she is top 25 all time and a 9X AS, I think I was able to land one at a reasonable price. Not even the most I had to spend. Becky Hammon is my last piece to the puzzle.

Couple things in the mail today plus some show pickups from the weekend.


1999 SI Greats of the Game pickups from the show - I had actually kind of quit messing with this set but these two were cheap and I still have about 20 of the others so guess I'm back on it.


2006 Bowman Heritage Prospects Clayton Kershaw - I know it's not technically a RC but I love the early Bowman Heritage issues and Kershaw's an all time great.


2006 SPx Tribute Joe Montana Autograph - I traded for one of these in a PSA 8/10 a couple months ago as part of a cash/trade for some high end Yadi cards. Unfortunately I got an empty bubble mailer that had been opened in transit. This one isn't quite as nice but it was a decent price and I'm happy to have it.

2009 Topps Update Career Best Autographs Giambi, from his second go-around with the A's. It does not pop up very often at all so I had to grab it. 2022 Topps 1987 Silver Pack Chrome Blue 034/150 McGwire. 1999 Revolution Diamond Legacy Grieve. 2022 Topps Independence Day 65/76 Manaea. And a 2023 Topps Black Jonah Bride RC 30/72.

Wondering what you consider cheap for these? I can't seem to find either at bargain prices anymore. Sometimes it is about timing though, I guess.

This saga finally comes to an end. I let a seller string me along for a month. They claimed medical issues from the beginning and I tried to be apathetic to their plight, whatever that was (if it was even real). They couldn't find the item, yet it was for sale. that one gets me the most. Why are people selling something they don't have in their hand right now?

Anyway, finally got sick of waiting and opened a claim. The oddly went silent after that point and ebay gave me my money back. Found a different seller and had it in hard within a week. This rings true of the comment I had about ebay sellers sliding of late. I am definitely having more issues than ever before with sellers not sending items won, packaging poorly, overcharging for shipping, etc. Eventually I will reach that point....where I am done. Not there yet, but it's coming faster and faster.



One of the rare "tribute" cards out there for an active player who died while cards were still being issued. The Topps version lacks the black year banner that signifies the lifespan. For those unfamiliar, Lindbergh died in a car wreck while he was still an active player. Stupidity (likely speed and excessive alcohol) that could have been avoided, ended a promising career and life.

It's not just you...I've been having so many problems in the last few months not receiving cards I paid for. It's always PWE stuff.

I have less than $50 in the pair. I paid $15 for the Fidrych and the O'Neill was part of a package deal but call it $30.

I needed to have this Sayers after I saw it. I was aware of the baseball set, but not the FB set. It's /50.

Nolan was a 4X AS and 3X Champ with the Shock.

I got a COMC shipment in yesterday plus I had a small pile I hadn't shown yet so this is going to be spread over 2 posts. First post is the eBay stuff and non-A's COMC stuff.


Continuing to pick up 1939-1941 Play Ball...I think I need 2 more for the 1941 team set after this pair. Greive gets me one away from all of the A's 1997 Bowman Black Ink Signatures...still need a Tejada. There's a Joe "Crazy Eyes" Valentine 2003 UD 40-Man Rainbow 38/40 and a 2005 Topps Box Bottom Mark Kotsay. The Silk card is an example of one of my favorite card oddities...the parallel card of a base card that doesn't exist. I guess Trystan Magnuson was originally going to be in 2011 Topps Update but got pulled after production already started on the Silks. Must have been replaced by some guy named after a fish.


I've been searching for this 2016 Archives #1 Draft Pick Auto of Rick Monday for a while, 05/50. Love the 1985 design. Then there's a 2021 Update Black Frankie Montas, along with a Blue Refractor Auto Nick Allen and Gold Refractor Auto Tyler Baum.

COMC stuff:


The big pair, 1998 Pinnacle Inside Stand Up Guys Promos Dilfer/Alstott/Dunn/Anthony. 1998 Pinnacle Inside was never made because Pinnacle went bankrupt, and these cards are extremely rare. I didn't know about them until probably ten years afterwards when a pair showed up on eBay, and I missed out on them. I didn't see another until this pair popped up on COMC recently and I grabbed it. It's not often I find a '90s Dilfer I need.


More typical Dilfer pickups. The 2006 Score select card is one I already had, but when 01/25 showed up I bought it of course. The Collector's Edge card is another in the endless slew of uncatalogued promo/preview cards from them. There is a regular "Preview" card I already had that looks like the normal card but says PREVIEW in the serial-number space on the back. This one I had never seen before has a blank spot where the serial number should go, and has small gold stamped "SAMPLE" on the front. I half think somebody had an unnumbered card from the bankruptcy and made the gold sample stamp themselves. But I bought it anyway!


Lastly, a 2003 UD 40-Man Rainbow for my Tom Goodwin collection.

Recent stuff. The Gold 1988 Canseco auto is 01/50. Seth Brown is the Golden Mirror SSP, and the 1987 Canseco is the Green Refractor/99.


Neat GU. Joe Morgan is 01/99.


Canseco and Fingers are out of 2022 Archives. The Rich Harden Mirror Red is 07/10.


All these are team set completers: 1998 Pinnacle Plus Gold Artist's Proofs/100 (only 2 cards lol), 1999 Pacific Prism Gold/480, 2001 Elite Aspirations, 1998 Omega Red, and finally 2000 Bowman Gold/99 (twenty cards!). Mulder took forever to find for some reason.


More team set completers: 2007 UD Premier/99 (most would say it's a Blue Jays card but I go by the uniform), 2006 Flair Showcase Legacy Blue/150, 2005 Donruss Greats Silver Holofoil, 2008 Bowman Chrome X-Fractors/250 including prospects, autos, and draft (somebody hoards the crap out of numbered Brooks Conrad cards so this was very tough to track down), 2020 Select Holo, and 2022 Topps (& Update) Gold/2022.

20+ year old parallels. The UD3 Hinch Die-Cut is 038/100. Giambi is the 1998 Stadium Club First Day parallel that's so tough to find.


'00s stuff. The Plate is Travis Buck. Brad Halsey gets me one away from 2006 Topps Chrome Red Refractors/90, just missing Frank Thomas. The Huston Street X-Fractor is 11/25.


And lastly some slightly more recent stuff. Reggie is the 2012 Five Star "base card", 58/80.
